ok guys here qe go. another year of team breakdowns brought your boy "fundamentals". yall know me im always willing to help out any way i can. from noobs to veterans anything i can do to help im in. if u have any positive feedback please input it here as much as possible. any negative feedback will be deleted.

ok the NETS! nice team overall. not many play makers so u have to be selective with who u score with and defend with.a better half court team than fastbreak team. lopez is the man in the paint with his 73-def aware. and 89 shot blocking. believe me hes a beast in the paint. good rebounder too with 92 off and 84 def rebounding. overall one of the best centers on the game if u use him right. 87-inside, 82-close, and 79-medium and 84 low post offense makes him a threat anywhere around the rim and a average mid range shooter. this is the man u want to run your offense thru.

harris is his right hand man on this team. a well rounded point guard that has good ball security-91, handles-96, and off hand dribbling-94. a terror when he gets to the rim!! with only 79 medium and 55- 3pt he isnt mush the shooter tho. that hurts him some. but his 88 inside and 73 close helps him get buckets in the paint. even tho he only has 69 dunk and 83 layup he doesnt play like it!! lol! ive always liked this guy in drafts or whatever. but this year hes a better scorer than passer-76. his 94 speed and 97 quick helps him get pass guys in a heartbeat with a quick iso move. 85 off aware and 88 vertical lets u know what hes capable of doing wheh he gets in thr paint!! wiht only 73 def aware and 71 on ball defense he isnt too much of a defender this year. but what helps him out on defense is his 85 steals rating!
when harris penetrates and kicks out for the 3 ball carl lee is who he should be looking for with his 81-3pt rating. a good even stroke so many of them should fall. off the bench dooling and hayes with 84 and 82-3pt shooting should rain consistently too.

the QA on this team is YI. a well rounded offensive threat with 85- inside, 84-close, and 72-medium... oohh and his 72 3 pt shooting!! he makes guys pay for doubling lopez in the paint either inside or on the perimeter. oohh and i did i mention hes a 7 footer?? not much of a finisher at the rim-67 dunk- but he gets the job done. 77 low post offense against a weaker defender will get u consistent points on the block alot. with only 68- blocking and 58-off reb and 82 def reb he isnt much of a force on the boards and shot blocking. sometimes he alters shots tho cuz of his height. and thats all u need. on paper he looks below average but get him on the court and spread the court and watch him act a fool!!!

c. douglas-roberts is a better inside scorer-91 than outside-70 3pt. his mid range is ok 81- but not consistent. the problem with this guys is his very quick and crazy release!! lol! once u get it sown u can hit a few jumpers with him.but not many at all.

run your offense thru dooling and hayes when your bench comes in to play. u dont have a "5 man bench" thats even average so sub in and out as needed. try to keep harris on the floor as much as possible.
humphries and battis is your bigmen off the bench but arent too good at all on defense so help them out as much as possble with double teams and steals when your bench comes in. humphries is above average rebounder coming off the bench in case u need some rebounds. williams is a good little thief at times too.

2ND TEAM: (if u want to)
dooling
williams
hayes
humpries
battie

DEFENSIVE TEAM:
harris
dooling
lee
yi
lopez

COACHING SETTING

OFF TEMPO-55- this is a half court team. your wing players arent finishers so slow down the pace
DEF. PRESSURE-100- anything else your players play lazy defense and dont react effective at all
HELP DEF-100- Big men in the paint come and help quick
FAST BREAK- 20- same reason as OFF TEMPO
CRASH BOARDS- 80- get every rebound!!
RUN PLAYS-20-self explanatory but keep fairly low cuz sometimes they run plays at the wrong time! lol
DOUBLE TEAMS-50- works best in the paint so u want your perimeter guys staying with there man at times
ZONE USAGE- 75- More zone than man without question!
DEPTH CHART-0- U never use it anyway
TAKE INSIDE SHOTS-85- help out lopez/Yi as much as possible!
TAKE CLOSE SHOTS-same as above
TAKE MID RANGE SHOTS- 20-not many mid range shooters on this team at all. u could drop it lower if u want
TAKE 3PT SHOTS-55- when devin drives and kicks out hes assured of a good chance of it falling.
ATTACK THE BASKET-25- all u have is harris as a penetartor so help out your shooters by keeping this low
LOOK FOR POST PLAYERS-20-u never use it. could be lower if u want
THROW ALLEYS-20-same as above

now with these setting u can lower and raise them as needed. no setting on here is set in stone guys so please play smart.

spread the court with the flex 3 isolation play and let harris get to rim one on one all day. this play does a good job off getting your shooters in a great spots to drop the 3!

triangle 6 wing three gets YI in the corner for a 3 pt shot well and spreads the court good too,
baseline 1 wing mid range- gets lopez cutting directly across the lane underneath the rim!!. pass before he reaches the otherside of the paint. dunk all day long.
1 4 high elbow jumper is another play to get lopez the ball underneath the goal too.
motion 1 backdoor cut- killer play for harris to finish big at the rim. only 1 pass and watch him cut off a pick by lopez straight down the lane for the dunk!!
triangle 7 corner three- good play for yi at the free throw line to either shoot, penetrate, or kick out to other shooter behind the 3 pt line
motion 5 wing three- gets YI directly under the basket for a good second or so before he leaves. pass it to him quick for the easy layup!

HAVE FUN A AND ENJOY!!!!

QUICK TIP:

Now that the 2nd patch is out u have the ability to go in the defensive pressure screen and double team who u want and where u want. (always, in the paint, or never). one way to shut down your opponents go to player is always double team him in the paint. this is a very effective man defense strategy!! i shut down 3 lebron abusers in a row with this tactic.
why it works: well think about it when he penetrates one of your big men will come over even quicker to double team him instead of one of you perimeter players. many players want to kick out to three point shooters when u double team so this works very well.
now if your opponent is good at iso moves then double team his go to player always. but never double team more then 2 people at a time. if u try and double team everyone i found out that you team will get tired super quick and the double teams wont be effective at all. also many times the computer will be waiting on u to double someone that u are usering too! so they just stand there and no double team is ever executed!

QUICK TIP: when playing zone (1-3-1 is the best this year) put defensive pressure to "play tight" on every player and just roam with either your power forward or center. look to pick off pass and get deflections. watch how fast your guys play the perimeter and get deflections!! this works much better with great defensive teams like the nuggets ans lakers!

OKC THUNDER!!! come on guys u know whos the go to guy on this team. with out question is Kevin Durant. hands down this guy is top 5 on this game easy!! he can shoot, dribble, and finish big at the rim!! this team may not have a dominant big man down low like the nets do but believe me the rest of the guys get it done. they are solid on offense and defense. good shooters and ok defenders. lets take a look at this team more in depth.

SHOOTING AVERAGE: (inside and close) 77.6- based on starters
DEF AWARENESS: 77-put green at pf and ibaka at center and u get this average
HUSTLE: 82.2 (based on roster below) good for zone defense
westbrook
sefolosha
durant
ibaka
thomas

STARTERS:
westbrook
harden
durant
collison
e. thomas

now i know i changed the lineup but let me tell u why. green is good but hes not a low post defender and hes really too short to play in the paint.but if u want to start him at pf than run alot of zone. hes perfect for that. but hes better suited as a shooting forward. I also have him coming off the bench to give u a scorer on the floor. i also start collison for his inside scoring and thomas for his strength and shot blocking.

west brook at point can at times take any point guard defending him and simply embarrass them. his iso move and quick step dribble to the rim is off the chain!! 96-layup/ 84 dunk/ 93 handles/ 91 off hand driblble/ 83 ball security93 spped/ 90 vertical and 96 quickness. one of the biggest finishers at the rim ive seen on this game playing the pg position!! his ball security may not be real high for a pg but goodness he makes up for it everywhere else!! his speed and quickness is top notch so by all means get to the rim with this guy all day long!! hes a better mid range shooter than 3 point shooter,72 mid range/ 63 3pt, so when defending him sag off. his inside-79- and close shooting-75- is high for a pg . his defense76 def awareness/75 on ball/74/ 31 block, isnt steller but it will suffice. its slightly above average.

harden is a better shooter79 mid/ 78 3pt, than westbrook but not the big finisher tho-69 dunk. depending on who is guarding him he can get to the rim also-87 quickness- but his handles and ball security-83/79- isnt real high so be careful. hes particularly strong-74-for a sg so he wont get backed down by the kobe on the block when guarding him. his defense isnt too good-63 def aware/72 on ball/63 steal/28 block- so make sure he has helpside defense around him at all times.
kevin durant. LORD have mercy!! lol!! the guys is a monster on this game and in real life!!! he can shoot, dribble, finish, defend, and even score big time on the block!! since his off awareness is so high he makes alot of jumpers in defenders faces. i like to get him on the move and shoot off dribble against smaller sf's trying to guard him. water all day!! i could on all day about this guy so just check him out yourself!
95 inside/89 close/80 mid/75 3pt/ 80 layup/ 82 dunk/ 77 handles/ 79 low offense/ 86 low post shot/ 76 steal/ 60/74 off/def rebound/ 91 stamina/ 75 def awareness/ 97 off awareness/ 86 shot off dribble/ 83 shot in traffic/ 80 hustle!!! GOODNESS!!

nick collison is good at inside scoring -86-with baby hooks and getting alot of off rebounds-88. not much of a shotblocker-50- and low post defender-55- at all so helpside defense is important.

etan thomas is a good shot blocker-84- and can score in the paint sometimes-70 inside-70 close- but not consistently.ok rebounding-81 for def reb- ability but low def awareness-48. strong-91- on the block against big centers but somewhat short against 7 footers.

coming off the bench u have the best defender on the team in sefolosha-85 def awareness-84 on ball-89 steal. much better finisher-79- at the rim on fast breaks than shooter-59 mid range-72 3pt. his handles-69- and ball security-51- is low so dont try and iso alot with him becuz u might get ripped! lol! but this guys shimes on defense bigtime! user steals all day with him.

jeff green can score inside-82- against alot of sf's. he finishes-76- at the rim well but not real fast-72- on the fast break. good defender-84 def awareness- in zone defense but not a big shotblocker-36- at all. so user him on defense if playing man and again make sure helpside defense is alert and ready.

ibaka is the best shotblocker-87- on the team and a surprisingly good dunker-85.
krstic is a average shooter from mid range-77- and low post shots-81. maynor is a below average back up at pg so he needs helpside alot and not a scorer at all. if u need another scorer down low off the bench then insert dj white. he can score close-76- and has good strength-88.

overall this team strength is its starters and its weakness is its bench players. green will help score off the bench but thats pretty much all u have. so sub in and out as needed. look to score alot on fast breaks when the bench comes in with green and sefolosha on the wings. this team overall is a better zone defense team than man defense becuz there hustle average is above average. so they move alot on the perimeter.
offensively make sure the ball starts and ends with KD! hes the "jordan" on this team and westbrook is the "pippen"!! lol!

2nd TEAM
maynor
sefolosha
green
ibaka
krstic

FASTBREAK TEAM

harden/sefolosha
westbrook
durant
green

GRIZZLES!!!

U know what felllas? i like this team!i remember tellin dpunks before basketball season even started that this team online would be one to reckon with. they remind me alot of the blazers because of there height. the second tallest player on the game is on this team!! penetrators and finishers galore on this team!! goodness this team is verrrry explosive!!! the best team in the paint on the game (outside of the cavs and lakers of course!!). lets take a look at this team

STARTERS
conley
mayo
gay
randolph
gasol

BENCH:
tinsley
young
carroll
randolph
hunter

DEFENSIVE AWARENESS: 66.8
SHOOTING AVERAGE: 79.8

The team starts out with rudy gay. the highest rated player on the team and a big finisher at the rim-88 dunk- all day long! look to get him the ball as much as possible. he is a force to be reckon with. good shooter-83 mid range-76- 3pt-with average handles-75. his ball security-40- is low so be careful with him becuz he is suspect to getting ripped. his 74 steal rating is good becuz of his height so hes able to reach and disrupt ball handlers without getting to close. a rebounding machine-66/79 off/def rebounding. good stamina-93- but what hurts him is his def awareness-70. his 55 blocking is ok but his on ball defense-69- is low so he needs helpside defense. at his best in one on one situations with his 85 quickness and on the fastbreak.his 88 close rating and 79 close rating tells me he is better closer to the rim then farther from it. so get to rim with him!!
oj mayo--very nice shooter-86 mid range/82-3pt. if u get his slooow release down u can drop jumpers all day long!! able to finish at the rim-69-dunk- but a better layup finesse player at times-85-layup. not the best handles-79-and low ball security-57- but his iso moves will get him some space to shot the ball effectively.ok shooting off the dribble-81. what hurts him is his 72 def awareness and on ball defense. his 85 speed is good enuff to get to the rim and do damage on the fast break. if u need a mid range shooter, this is your man!!
conley-a ok point guard with subpar abilities. 80-3pt shooter but needs to be wide open to make it becuz hes short. ok handles-87- and off hand dribble-83. suspect ball security-79. same passing rating-74 for a point guard. very low defense awareness-60 and on ball defense-70. needs helpside defense bigtime as u can see. nice quickness-91 to get himself some space. what kinda trips me out about conley tho is his vertical-94. his dunk-39-rating is low. so that just tells me u can user rebound and contest shots with him alot. i would user him alot on defense if im playing man defense. the fastest player on the team-88.
GASOL-Not as good as his brother but kinda close if u know how to use him. 89-inside-82-close/and 76-mid range is above average. his baby hook is very effective in the paint. 89/82 off/def rebounding is ok but not real good. average shotblocker-80and low post shooter-80. 70 standing dunk is good enuff. not much on paper but on the court he is a monster!!
thabeet-your primary defender in the paint! long and tall with 84 shotblocking ability. with his 84/77 for off/def rebounding is ok but not good. especially becuz of his height.what helps him score in the paint is his team leading 85 standing dunk rating!!highest on the team!!

off the bench your go to players are young-82- and carroll-74. two big dunkers on the break! nice iso moves so use carroll alot cuz he can get to the rim in one on one situations. tinsley is your point guard if u r looking to run plays with his 86 passing rating and 84 ball security. nice steal rating too-77- for a backup point guard. randolph comes off the bench to give u a scorer in the paint with his team high 95 close and great shooting ability everywhere else-74 inside, 79 mid range, and 70 3pt shooting. hunter has 70 shotblocking and decent height so he will have to do.

now on paper this team looks real weak. but so does the blazers every year and they squeeze in the top 5 teams online every year becuz of there height and finishers at the rim! this will probably be my team of choice since the blazers are so depleted cuz of injuries. this is a much better offensive team than defensive team. but there height makes up for there defensive awareness bigtime!!

baseline 1 isolation 1- great play that really spreads the floor good and lets mayo do his thing one on one and finish at the rim!
motion 5 isolation- good play that gets gay coming off a pick and cutting underneath the basket for a quick pass and dunk!
1 4 high post-up low 1- good play that gets gay directly under the rim setting a pick. get him the ball while he sits there for a easy layup.
box post-up low 1- good play to get gasol cutting underneath the rim for a quick pass and dunk as he comes across the lane.
triangle 3 post up low 4- good play to get rudy cutting toward the basket for one pass and then lead pass to him for the dunk!
motion 5 wing three- good play to get both rudy and gasol under the rim for a quick pass to gasol or rudy for a layup/dunk
flex 2 wing jumper- good play to get thabeet cutting underneath rim for the quick pass and dunk
triangle 2 elbow jumper-4- good play to get rudy cutting toward the basket for one pass and then lead pass to him for the dunk!
flex 2 pick and pop- good play to get rudy cutting toward the basket for one pass and then lead pass to him for the dunk! the best and easiest one in there playbook!!!

ok thats enuff!

COACHING SETTING

OFF TEMPO-85- this is a big finishing team so get the noards and get on the fastbreak!
DEF. PRESSURE-100- u should kn ow why by now lol!
HELP DEF-100- same as above
FAST BREAK- 90- same reason as OFF TEMPO
CRASH BOARDS- 45- u got good height in the paint so user some rebounds and let your wing players go!
RUN PLAYS-20-self explanatory but keep fairly low cuz sometimes they run plays at the wrong time! lol
DOUBLE TEAMS-50- works best in the paint so u want your perimeter guys staying with there man at times
ZONE USAGE- 100- low defensive average and awareness so user the big men down low and contest shots
DEPTH CHART-0- U never use it anyway
TAKE INSIDE SHOTS-65- help gasol and company out
TAKE CLOSE SHOTS-50 same as above
TAKE MID RANGE SHOTS- 20-raise and lower if u want
TAKE 3PT SHOTS-25- not many on this team that can consistently hit the 3
ATTACK THE BASKET-85-this team is loaded with penetrators. even on the bench!!
LOOK FOR POST PLAYERS-20-u never use it. could be lower if u want
THROW ALLEYS-20-same as above

now with these setting u can lower and raise them as needed. no setting on here is set in stone guys so please play smart.

Quick tip: Man defense (on ball)

when playing strong on ball defense always hit the double team button as soon as u click on the defender to play man defense. Dont know why but this makes your defender play tougher and stronger defense on ball. Even if the double teamer doesnt come over to double team. Works like crazy in the paint!! With a shot blocker or not the big men in the paint makes the shooter do a "lazy shot" becuz the big men always put body on the shooter!! Everytime! Yes this is how u put body and change shots anywhere on the court!! Again it works like a charm in the paint. So this is where i primarily use it! But if im beat or the paint is empty of helpside i hit the double team button with the quickness once i click on for on ball defense.

oh and set your defensive assist to 0 when doing this. it works even better

BOBCATS!!!!

defense wins championships! well that statement couldnt be more true than with this team. when playing with this team look to score alot on the break and off turnovers. more off a penetrating team with some shooters sprinkled in here and there.
This team host one of my favorite players in the NBA. i always makes sure hes a top pick of mine in any online draft league i participate in. Gerald Wallace! he as the combination of very solid defense-82/on ball and def aware-and he is a thief at steals-89-with a 54 block rating. he is one of your go to guys in the clutch outside of jackson. standing 6'7" 220 pounds he can guard explosive shooting guards effectively. dont trip over his 82 overall rating. that does say anything about this guy. his 88 inside is his only high close to the rim scoring attribute but that can be somewhat changed with the coaching sliders during the game. his 50 close,67 medium, and 66 3 pt shooting is poor for a player of his caliber. so whatever u do keep him near the rim at all times. his 89 layup and 94 dunk makes him an absolute terror when he gets to the rim!! believe me outside of d wade and lebron there arent many finishers at the rim like this guy! hes able to dunk over big shotblockers like crazy!!!again his 72 shooting off the dribble doesnt make him a good shooter so get to the rim with this guy and have a field day!! 67 for ball handles and 59 for off hand dribbling makes him suspect at getting ripped so be careful. his iso move will work well in open court but not too well in half court. 73/88 off/def rebounds!! enuff said!! a monster on the boards! he can play the pf spot too in a 1 3 1 defense and just wreck with steals!! 72 low post defense is good for a shooting forward.good speed and quickness-85- and 91 for stamina keeps him on the floor alot. where he really shines is his 99 for hustle! yea he goes for loose balls but this also helps alot on zone defense. user him on the baords with his 96 vertical and just embarrass big men in the paint getting rebounds over them! his simple drive penetration tendency is 72, 80 attack dribble finish,94 simple drive, 93 isolation!!!! ok i need to stop i think u see my point. this guy is a absolute monster geting to the rim!! so understand he wants to drive all the time! ill always be bias towards the guy. no matter his ratings! this is one of my favorite players on the game every year! 93 take carge, 94 on ball steals, 97 draw fouls!! oh i thats just his tendencies!!!i see all of this and more on the floor!!

stephen jackson!! from my neighbor city of port arthur, texas! im from beaumont, texas. lol! a helluva player with a thug attitude! lol! a better shooter than gerald wallace 79 mid, 70 3pt. get his release down and make alot of shots with him. 77/73 layup/dunk ratings allows him to finish well at the rim. 73 shooting in traffic, 82/80 shot inside/close ratings help him bigtime to make shots close to the rim! at 6'8" his 77 shooting off the dribble is good becuz he can shoot over shorter players. along with his 89 off awareness. 76 on ball defense, 72 def aware, and 71 steal gives him a "c" grade at defense. so user him if u need to. speed/quickness 73/75 shows u he isnt the one on one break your ankles type player. a better shooter mid range and close to the rim player than anything else. but still very solid player. like g. wallace get him on the court and see how well all of what i just wrote goes thru the roof. stevey j is to be reckon with!!!

raymond felton- a solid shooter inside and out. 80 shot inside, 81 close-77 mid range, and 76 3pt. layup is all day-78. 85/81/81 for ball handles/off hand dribble/ball security is solid enuff to be a serviceable point guard. but his 78 pass rating is low so pass with caution. 69/64 for on ball/def aware ratings is low so he needs helpside defense alot. 84/82 speed/quickness means he needs to sag off players to stay in front of them. this a good player to user defend with on defense. u can hide his abilities! lol.

boris diaw- 87 shot inside is good for his height. combined with his 77 shot lot post rating. 77/71 mid range/3 pt is good is ok but not great for the shooter we have always known him to be. 59/57 layup /dunk is bad so as u can see hes a shooter/close to rim shooter more than anything else. 64/61 shoot off the dribble/shot in traffic is below average. 66/62 handles/ball security is good for a power forward. 52/54 is horrible for off/def rebound.72/65 for on ball/def awareness is the same as i just stated! lol! horrible! especially for a power forward!! but yes i know he is very short for this position. but hes the only power forward u have!! lol! chandler is hurt. the only good thing i see when labbing this guy is his post shot attribute hook shot in the paint-92.

n. mohammed- 76/84 inside/close shooting is good for this guy.70 low post shot helps too. even at 6'10" is can score on the block against low defending players well. get him under the rim and his percentage goes up.84/76 off/def rebounds is below average so he needs help. 52 block, 67 low post defense, and 66 defense aware isnt good at all so again he needs helpside defense alot. but what i do like about this guys i that he is very physical and aggressive in the paint. 85 contesting shots and 96 hard foul defensive tendencies helps out his above defensive attributes alot.

diop- 80 shotblocking, 92 contest shots tendency tells me he will attempt to block shots alot all over the court. also use this guy to set picks-99 tendency. 74 inside shoot is ok for a 7 footer. 99 offensive rebounds!!! dammmm!!! enuff said!! lol!

augustine is your 3pt shooter-85. and mid range-80. 89/87 layup/ freethrow is good. 93/91 ball handle/off hand dribble. again good. 66/69 ball security/ pass is bad 61/49 on ball defense/def aware is again bad. 90/93 speed/quickness is good. so as u can see he has his goods and bads. a clutch deep shooter tho. user defend alot with him.
derrick brown is a athletic sf off the bench whos a good finisher-85 dunk- and shooter-74/77 mid range/3pt. 85/88 strength/vertical is good. this is a player that noone notices during a game that will light u up!!! 65/53 on ball defense/defense aware shows is cant defend well at all so user him on defense. altho he has a 92 on ball steals tendency that helps some. hes this teams "silent assassin"!! gerald henderson is a good finisher-88 dunk and murray a thief off the bench-82 steals, 90 plus on ball steals tendency and 86 shot inside shooter.

what this team is really missing is there starting center chandler. his height and shot blocking ability is very good. this is where he dominates!! so since he isnt with this team right now look to get alot steals and deflections and score off the break and turnovers alot. play alot of zone with this team. u can even put wallace at the pf spot from time to time. he will get alot of steals!!

Gerald gets some time at the 4 IRL... He's athletic enough enough to hold his own against most 4s...

If you have a minute fundamentals, just a quick Q please.
Im following your Grizz tips to a T, but I dont understand the plays... e.g. I call the plays but the players arent in the position you had them in (like Gay cutting under the basket on certain plays)
Is it necessary to have the play called under a specific player (eg calling a play designed for a SF, but running it from a PF's playbook)
Sorry if thats confusing but thats what Im finding

fundamentals
01-27-2010, 09:57 PM
I understand what u saying. No it doesn't matter. The play where gay cuts to the rim works. Turn on your playbook diagram and make sure your point guard, or whoever suppose to be on the circle, is directly on the circle. The players won't move till this happens first.

NETS!!!

TEAM DEFENSE AVERAGE: 63.8 ( based on defensive awareness)

INSIDE SHOOTING AVERAGE: 86.2
3PT SHOOTING AVERAGE: 63.4

STARTERS:
harris
lee
c. roberts
yi
lopez

ok guys here qe go. another year of team breakdowns brought your boy "fundamentals". yall know me im always willing to help out any way i can. from noobs to veterans anything i can do to help im in. if u have any positive feedback please input it here as much as possible. any negative feedback will be deleted.

ok the NETS! nice team overall. not many play makers so u have to be selective with who u score with and defend with.a better half court team than fastbreak team. lopez is the man in the paint with his 73-def aware. and 89 shot blocking. believe me hes a beast in the paint. good rebounder too with 92 off and 84 def rebounding. overall one of the best centers on the game if u use him right.

Lol, nah I know how to run plays (Im not NEARLY as bad as a noob as that!) but its just that on the plays where Rudy would suppose to cut, players like Mayo and Gasol are instead. But nevermind, thanks anyway (tips are priceless)

CLIPPERS!!!

poor poor clippers!! without blake griffin this team isnt as good as it really could be. but it has its goods and bads. wont spend alot of time on the teams that arent real good or even have the potential to be good. griffin is gone for the year so that hurts this teams athletic ability on the court and in the paint. good defenders in the paint but not many good shooters on this team. baron davis isnt as good as he once once but hes the teams best perimeter player. so lets take a look.

baron davis- not the player he once was but can steal the ball well-84. 66 def awareness is poor but his puts body on the opposing pg's well to stay in front of them and change up the shot. i still would recommend user him on defense becuz his def awareness is so low. 97/93 for handles and quickness is real good so u can get to the rim with a quick iso move and layup-92. 95 for off hand dribble is very high. also his 87 for passing is good too. altho his 87 speed isnt that high u really wont need it on the fast break. make sure he has a clean lane to the rim becuz his 67 shoot in traffic rating is bad. 82 shoot off dribble is good but where his offense takes a dive is his 68/67/72 for close/mid/3pt. 69 dunk rating is somewhat low but ok for a pg. even tho his 99 flashy passing is tendency is good thats really not needed. off ball defense can be good with his 95 on ball steals tendecy but against a good pg he may get called for fouls. so again i suggest user defending with him. dont worry about getting ripped alot with him when trying to get to the rim. average player at best. but good player if u know how to use him well.

kaman-92 contest shot tendency and 93 hard foul tendency- u know what that means? he puts a big body on players in the paint!! i like that! alot!! that miss directs shots all by itself. thats important in this years game. every 78 shot block and low post defend is ok but not good for a center. 70 defense and 78 strength is too good either but with his height it will do. not many 7 footers are real strong besides shag and yao. 75/82 off/def rebounding is ok. 86 low post shooting is good so he can score in the paint or on the block. but 70 for standing dunk isnt too good so make sure u have a clean dunk opportunity in the paint with him. but his offensive stregth lies in his 93/85/78 inside/close/mid shooting. this guy can simply score!!! 7 feet tall helps alot too. with 45/54 for layup/dunk use him as a somewhat "finesse" type player. he really doesnt get too physical until u get on the defensive side of the court. then his tendencies come in to play big time!

camby--again 93 contest shot tendency. 92 shot blocking! yes he also goes for the block! 90/80/69 for inside/close/mid is good too so he can score. has the ugliest release known to man but if u get it down he can make mid range shots well. 99 for consistency meant nothing to me until i got him on a hot streak and he score 16 points in a row against dwight howard!! 45/60 layup/dunk is low again so u have a somewhat finesse type player in him also. 65 standing dunk doesnt really help so its where u position him close to the rim that will tell if he makes shots in the paint alot. 84/ 94 off/def rebound is good so expect to get alot of boards with camby. low post defense of 90 means u can put him on good post players all day long! 84 defense awareness supports that claim! when labbing this guy i noticed how well he played on dwight howard online. man he just shut him down!!! honestly to me he is the most under rated player on 2k. believe me if u run with this team but him on there best post player and sit back and watch the show!!! top 3 in post defense on the game in my opinion!!!

gordon- has taken a bit hit in stats and abilities so i wont go into him very deeply cuz that could change quickly. all i will say is that he can score all day on the perimeter! good finisher on the break but his shooting is what stands out whn playing with him. short for a 2 guard but can hold his own at times. helpside defense is needed tho.

thorton- ok shooter 76/76 close medium-and finisher-84 and 84 inside shooting. pure fast break player! 51 on ball defense 58 def awareness and 47 steal means he wont defend well at all so he needs helpside alot. 67 quickness is low and alos his 63 for speed is low so get him on the break quickly for a big dunk! 97 vertical is good so user rebounding with this guy is a plus!!

ricky davis is your scorer off the bench. not the player he use to be but off the bench he will do. 75 for 3pt shooting is ok so spot him up if u need a 3 pointer. 73/69 layup/dunk is ok for fast breaks. 48 def aware is horrible so help side defense is a must at all times!!butler can shot the mid range-80 and dunk well on the break-69 but thats about it. his defense is bad too54/43 on ball defense and def awareness. help side!!!! jordan coming off the bench is most used for standing dunking-80. highest on the team!! lol! alos 95 shot blocking is real good too!! also his 99 inside shot tendency! 99 alley oops tendency! use him to set pick-96! dammm!! big help side defender!! 99 draw fouls! i love this guys 99 putbacks tendency! big dunks for putbacks! he is this teams "SILENT ASSASSIN"!!

If you get the chance you may want to add the Kings to your review.

"Reke Havoc" is hard to stop.

Pull up J. 3 good and goes to the hole with the best of them.

Online I can get 30 with him in my sleep.

He's surrounded by 3pt shooters and they have a lot of height.

Cassipi 6'9. Donte Green 6'11.
Throw in Kevin Martin and Udrih and all 4 are above 80 in 3's.

That's my favorite squad right now. I have beaten the Lakers quite a few times online.

They think it's going to be a cakewalk and I jump all over them.

HORFORD IS YOU POST UP GUY BUT BECUZ HES ONLY 6'10" HE WONT SCORE ALOT OF BABY HOOKS OVER 7 FOOTERS. JOSH SMITH, AS ALWAYS, NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED FOR THE DUNKS HE CAN PERFORM ON THIS GAME!! YOU BEST SHOTBLOCKER AND A MADMAN ON THE BREAK!! SINCE THIS TEAM IS SHORT U MAY SUFFER ON THE BOARDS SO THATS WHY THE REBO.UNDING SLIDER IS SO HIGH. WITH THIS TEAM U CAN EITHER SCORE ON THE BREAK OR THE HALF COURT SET. OVERALL VERY GOOD AND BALANCED TEAM. SHORT BUT SOLID. THIS TEAM IS TRULY SOMETHING TO WORK WITH IF U GOT GOOD STICK CONTROL. DEFENSIVELY THEY ARENT THAT GOOD AT ALL. OFFENSIVELY THEY CAN SCORE ALOT OF POINT IF U KNOW HOW TO USE THEM CORRECTLY. OF COURSE YOUR OFFENSE GOES THRU EVANS. ISO AND SPREAD THE COURT AND GET TO THE RIM WITH HIM ALL DAY LONG. HES A BEAST! HAWES IS YOUR BEST INSIDE SCORER AND THOMPSON CAN SCORE INSIDE AND MANY SPOTS AROUND THE PAINT. HES THE SLEEPER ON THIS TEAM. BEAST ON THE OFFENSIVE BOARDS TOO! MARTIN, GRANTED U CAN SHOT WITH HIM, IS OFF THE CHAIN! VERY HARD TO BLOCK HIS JUMPER WITH THAT CRAZY RELEASE! ONCE U GET HIS SHOT U CAN DRAIN JUMPERS ALL DAY LONG! OK THIEF TOO. ONE THING WHEN LABBING WITH HIM IS HE WILL ALWAYS TRY AND DRAW THE CHARGE. AND LASTLY NOCIONI IS YOUR 3 PT SHOOTER. NOT TOO CONSISTENT BUT WHEN HOT HES A HANDFUL. BELIEVE ME! GET HOT FORM BEHIND THE ARC AND WATCH RAIN FALL FROM HEAVEN! LOL! OFF THE BENCH CASSPI IS A 3PT THREAT TOO. OFF BALL HE FOULS HARD, TAKES CHARGES, AND ATTEMPTS STEALS ALOT!
OVERALL I SUGGEST YOU SCORE ALOT OFF OF TURNOVERS AND FASTBREAKS. IF NOT THEN SPREAD THE FLOOR AND GET TO THE RIM WITH TYREKE EVANS!

Thanks for the update on the Kings. Tyreke is a beast. I'm telling you. He hit's the pull up 2 and can hit the three. Online I would say I'm averaging 23 ppg 7 ast 4 reb a game. That's a normal stat line for the guy.

I've got a tip for you guys. Go play the three point shootout. It will help you learn how to release the ball. I can't shoot with the quick release guys. Maybe I need a new stick.

I took the Kings to the three point shout out. After going through all my players I could tell who I could shoot best with.

Now my new starting lineup is Tyreke at the point. Caspi at the two and idoka at the 3 online. They all have slow releases. I'm practicing hard with Martin but I just can't get his shot down. Some games I can't miss. Others. He's on the bench.

The height of Casspi helps with the defense.

WARRIORS!!!

you know what guys??? i like this team!! very balanced and explosive team! to me they are a poor mans nuggets lol! not as good as they were last year but still a very solid team. they get alot of steals and turnovers on defense. the teams engine is of course MONTA ELLIS. quick, fast and explosive!SPEED 96 QUICKNESS 99! under sized but dont sleep on him. he can shoot the mid range shot well-MID RANGE-83. but not the 3 ball-68. that well. big finisher whether it be layup-95- or dunk-69. in the open court hes a monster!! he puts the word "fast" -96-in fast break!! goodness this guy has speed galore! on defense he is excellent at steals-95! not too good at on ball defense60 so u have to sag off some with him. but get him hot and he will consistently-99- score like crazy!! perfect stamina-99. the only thing that hurts him is his height. going up against bigger and taller guards he can get abused. but u know my favorite word...HELPSIDE!!! lol!! as quick as this guy is and explosive as he is i dont see many, if any, one guarding him one on one!! while labbing him i abused kobe and lebron over and over!! lol! find his hotspots and act a fool!! 74- def awareness isnt high but it will do. but on defense what helps him bigtime is his tendencies. 91 on ball steals and 71 passing lanes! with 91 for shot inside and 75 for shot close u can score alot close to the rim but be carfeul cuz again hes short. which equates to blocked shots. 80 for shot off dribblle is average. but gets higher when iso move to get some space and shot the mid range. 86 ball handle and 82 off hand dribbling is above average! this guy is SICK!!!!!!!

STEPHEN CURRY-3pt monster-86. mid range-82. 87- layup. 90- ball handle. 88-off hand dribbling. 98-stamina. 87-freethrow. 92-quickness. 89-speed. ok ok ok ill stop lol!! his offensive skills is very good! all of this is for a point guard!!
60 on ball steals tendency and 92 passing lanes tendency! 86 steal attribute!! i had to start off with his numbers becuz this guy is good! lol! with only 75 for pass hes really not a "true" point guard, but believe me if u use him right he can be very effective at the point. defensively on ball he isnt too good at all-57. lol. so again sag off! HELPSIDE!! lol! with understand something. with sagging off some with him that means he will get a lot of steals in the passing lanes. so it really benefits him. plus hes short so he wont block alot of shots!! get it now??? ok, cool. lets continue!!

CORY MAGGETTE! -One word describes this guy. ILLEGAL! lol! it all starts with his 96 shot inside attribute! for a small forward thats sick!! oh and it doesnt stop there with this guy. 80, 83 for shot close and mid range. at 6'6" 225lbs he a little short for this position but hes strong-78- enuff to hold his own. 93,79 for layup and dunk is above average. 72 shoot in traffic is ok but his close scoring raises this big time! 73,67,50 for ball handle, off hand dribble, and ball security is low so be careful when performing iso moves to get to the rim. believe me he can be ripped! lol!68 on ball defense and 57 def awareness means HELPSIDE! sag off again. u know the drill by know. lol. get him hot and he will score with ridiculous consistency-99! great stamina-97. 80 speed is ok but not great when on the break. ellis always leaves him on the break! lol! but 84, 87 for quickness and vertical means he is a monster when getting to the rim! altho his defensive attributes arent high at all what helps him some is his tendencies on defense. 95,94 for draw foul and take charge. so as u can see he isnt the "aggressive" defender. hes more passive and lets u make the mistake off "charging" him. use him that way. 88 for dribble finish attack tendecy is good so again, use him to get to the rim! he can also be played at the power forward spot too. especially when running the 1 3 1 zone!! believe me this is where he shines the best!!!

ANTHONY RANDOLPH! boy o boy this is can get u fits with all he can do, not as good as he was last year but man if u know how to use him i really dont think theres a big man in the paint that can guard him! o i hear u saying "yea right". believe me man this was one of my teams last year so i know this guy well. but keep reading. ill prove it.
first of all what stands out is his 6'10" height combined with his 87 dunk and 71 ball handle! for a power forward!! that spells iso move and power dunk over anyone in the paint all day!! 84 shot inside is solid. 78 shot mid range is solid for a big man.not the standing dunker he use to be-60. 81,65 for block and steal is good. 88-79 for off and def rebounding is ok. 73 def awarenss isnt that good but his blocking rating helps this some. 50 low post defense means dont put him on shags and dwight howards at all lol. 60 quickness is good for a big man. 75 vertical agin means this guy can abuse big men and dunk like he got a gun to his head!! lol!! 42 for strength is very low so he can get pushed around by big men in the paint alot. 88 hustle is very good for a big man. o and his tendencies u ask. contest shot-90! take charge-85! 67,68 for passing lanes and on ball steals!!! need i say more. out of all the guys on this team this guy plays bigger and better than his stats! i promise u! i waited till he came back off IR to use this team again! i like to put him at the small forward sometimes too. thats a BIG lineup!! high flyer type of player with solid blocking skills!! 77 stamina could be better but remember hes just now coming off of IR. give him about 10 more games i think that will go up to about 80 or higher.

ANDRIS BIEDRINS
this guy last year was a monster! not as good as he was last year but still solid. his tendecies are very good. 87 passing lanes and 79 contesting shots. he gets alot of delfections in zone. 80 block and 61 steals tells u again that he can contets shots well and attempt steals and deflections just as well. 92/87 for off/def rebounding is good. 82 stamina is solid but his 72 strength rating isnt too good at all so again he can get pushed around by bigger and stronger bigmen75 low post defend is ok. if u a player in the paint to guard your opponents best big man than hes your man. 72 def awareness. hmmm...he will have to do lol. but guard the paint with HELPSIDE!! never leave any of your bigmen alone to guard anyone in the paint! on offense his 87 shot inside is good. like i said tho hes not as good as he was last year on offense so make sure u pick your shots carefully when using him in the paint. 65 standing dunk says the same thing. lol.

BENCH
Watson ans company are solid if not anything else. 85 for steals is very good; combined with his tendency of 92/86 passing lanes/on ball steals- and his 83 for both shot inside and mid range is solid too. 69/57 for on ball defense/def awareness.....yea... HELPSIDE!! lol! 84/87 for speed/quickness is good tho. very balanced bench pg. your 2 big men in the paint that are good at shot blocking are turiaf-92 and 96 contest shot tendency- and hunter-73 shot blocking attribute but a 98 contest shot tendency!! damm!! 94 hard foul and 90 commit foul tendency! damm! he is aggressive! but u need that coming off the bench! turiaf 84 shot close is good so use him if u need some "paint points". check this out tho. hunter has 75 standing dunk...hmm....isnt that higher than both off your starters?? yes it is! use it! b. wright isnt the defender hunter and turiaf is but hes a better scorer than they are. 89/84 for shot inside and close. 74 passing lanes tendency helps him in zone. morrow is a monster on offense period!! 83/82/83/87!! shot close/inside/medium and 3pt!!! damm! pure scorer! 43 def awareness and 49 on ball defense means my favorite word...hell u oughta know it by now!! lol!! i wont scream it! lol. nothing sticks out big about george. just use him at sf becuz u need one there. lol.

Hey Funds, I have been looking thru this site for like 2 weeks now and never wanted to join until today. Your hard work has given me tips on how to be a better player at this game, and I just want to say thank you on some grown man ish. You don't have to, but you want to, and everybody on this site, whether they've joined the site or not, should be grateful. I have a ps3 but no online right now, and that's the reason I'm not trying to get into a league. Anways, keep up the great work dude!

Dude I'd be a billionaire by the time that cat finished all those teams he said he was gonna breakdown, matter of fact I'll go as far as to say I would probably own an Nba team by the time he made another breakdown thats how sloooooooow he is or was lmao.

thx for the tips funamentals.....im just making the transition from 2k9 till 2k10 and i see the gameplay online is def different so im hoping to get back to par.... but another thing for some reason i seem to start off good 1-2 quarter then these dudes creep up on me in 3rd and 4th and end up beatin me i usually play with the nuggets but i might start with the bulls any tips on trying to neutralize those runs they go on late game after there down im thinkin if i seen them creep up on me i need to be calling time outs untill the flow is in my hands

fundamentals
03-18-2010, 10:44 PM
yea that would help. just play smart defense late in the game. combine man and zone to give them different looks. use your power forward to roam around on defense and make steals, deflections, and blocks

Blacksilkz
03-18-2010, 11:59 PM
yea man i played 2 games back to back these dudes weren't top level but they was a good comp for me since getting started i ran the man to man most of the game and mixed it up with the full trap seem like they are pressured more away from the basket when on man to man plus playing tight defense seemed to help me i won both of the games but they were close.....

why don't u do sliders....i been thinking about quitting sliders too doesn't really seem to help me......but i was wondering i was wondering i been playing with the suns lately because steve nash shot is nice prolly the best pg shot in the game imo ... but there defense is so weak against star teams like cavs lakers even the spurs im having trouble closing the middle and dudes are just racking up 50 pts in the paint against me i just need some help on how to lower that number.

run the 1-3-1 with like 30-40 pressure and 70-80 help defense and play with amare in the middle. Dunno if that'll work well it's more of my medical opinion hehe

Lolz at all you guys. Breakdowns and coaching profile settings are all the way YOU want to play and are very easy to set up based on the team you have geezy leweezy kinda embrassing watching you guys hammer fundamentals (who breakdowns in my opinion are kinda ridicliously set/ help defense and pressure defense at 100? what are you nuts?? lmao). **Then again I havent played 2k10 yet, but if its anything like 2k9 those defensive setting would get you killed no offense fundamentals.

Anyway look story short dpunkz knows what he's doing if you really cant figure stuff out by yourself in the LAb go buy area 51 I know it helped my game tremedously when I first started playing 2k.

Defense is sorta broken in 2K10.
2K9>2K10.

FCP/FCT is harder to run for some strange reason.
Zones are crazy, sometimes my center is at the 3pt line while im playing a 2-3 zone? wtfff.

id like the celtics too. thats my team!!
im a pure shooter. only take inside shots when i need to. on defense i play man all game long. i only switch to zone when some one is dominating me in the paint. no fast breaks at all as i run plays and half court offense alot!!! im not new to this game just new to this site. thanks dpunks!
